How did the Beehive Girls get started, you ask?

Now that you know who the Beehive Girls are... or should I say what they represent and the products they adorn, it's time to explain how it all got started!

The Beehive Girls were created and designed by Tamara Clark of Raleigh, North Carolina.  Tamara specializes in professional faux finishing and she is an accomplished muralist and is among several faux finishers who are adept in art instruction for new and developing faux finishers.  Her custom artwork has been highlighted in local and national publications over the past 27 years.  Tamara graduated with her Bachelors of Fine Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.  Then went on to Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina to receive her Art Education Certification.  After teaching art classes at a local elementary school, she decided to start her own business, TC Artworks, Inc.

One day, her very good friends, Lu and Doug Harris of Raleigh, North Carolina asked her to paint some cute girls on their dressing room walls of their chic boutique, Certain Things, located in the Cameron Village shopping center. Tamara had already drawn up some ideas and showed them to the shop owners. They LOVED the "Beehive Girls!

Tamara painted the girls and ever since then, the shop owners receive rave reviews on those "beehive" hair-dos from their clientele!  So much that the shoppers started asking about greeting cards with the girls on them... which got Tamara thinking. When Tamara sees an opportunity, she seizes it!  She started to create all different types of Beehive Girls, 24 to be exact! All of the Beehive Girls were inspired from friends and family members, some of them she has known since birth, she says.  Each Beehive Girl has their own personality, their own little story of character, but ALL of the Beehive Girls celebrate one thing: "Celebrate the power of girlfriends". Another commonality, they all have beehive hair-dos :)

The Beehive Girls are growing!! We have a multiple stores that carry us from the West to the East coast of USA and we are also in Canada...talk about a road-trip with your best gals!
Each Month, we will highlight a special Beehive Girl and her story with information on which products you can purchase with her on it.  We have individual Greeting Cards, Boxed Sets of 8 Greeting Cards, Note Pads, Mouse Pads, Beehive Beverage Holders, and our newest addition of Cocktail Napkins!

If you find a Beehive Girl that sounds like a friend or family member and you want to send them a special gift, we can customize prints in 5x7 or 8.5x11 frames which have your friends hair color or skin tone to match. Now, that is hard to find!
